El Motorola DEP450 es un radio portátil dual-modo (analógico y digital) diseñado para comunicaciones de negocio cotidianas que requiere buena durabilidad, simplicidad operativa y eficiencia. Cuenta con 16 o hasta 32 canales, según versión, y emite con una potencia de hasta unos 4 W en UHF, trabajando en rangos de frecuencia tanto en VHF como en UHF. Su carcasa tiene clasificación IP54, lo que lo hace resistente al polvo ligero y salpicaduras de agua, además de cumplir estándares MIL-STD para vibraciones y golpes. Gracias al modo Digital, ofrece hasta ~40 % más duración de batería que en analógico bajo ciclos de uso estándar, lo que lo hace apto para jornadas largas. Entre sus funciones convenientes están el modo “Dual Capacity Direct” (que permite duplicar la capacidad de canales sobre el mismo espectro sin repetidor), botones programables, VOX, bloqueo de canal ocupado, escaneo de canales prioritarios, y operación fiable incluso en entornos ruidosos.
